Baptist Medical Group Announces New Providers
LEXINGTON Supriya Kohli, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Neurology. Kohli earned a medical degree in India before completing a neurology residency at the University of Buffalo and an epilepsy fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She is board certified in neurology and epilepsy and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society, and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
Craig McCotter, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Lexington Cardiology. McCotter earned a medical degree from East Carolina University. He completed an internal medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina followed by a cardiology fellowship at the University of Virginia, where he served as chief fellow. McCotter also completed an electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Virginia. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and cardiac electrophysiology.
Erin Drenkhahn Stephens, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Primary Care. Drenkhahn Stephens earned a medical degree from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed a family and community medicine residency at the University of Kentucky. Drenkhahn Stephens is board certified in family medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Mary Beth Baylon, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Women’s Care Lexington. Baylon earned a medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Nathan Kusterer, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Lexington Cardiology. Kusterer earned a medical degree from Saint George’s University before completing an internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Kentucky, where he also served as chief resident and chief fellow. He is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
Kathryn Seward, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Hospital Medicine at Baptist Health Lexington. Seward earned a medical degree from the University of South Carolina. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky, where she also served as a clinical teacher to physician assistant students.
Apurva Subbaswamy, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Internal Medicine & Pediatrics. Subbaswamy graduated with distinction when she earned a medical degree at the University of Kentucky. She completed an internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians.
Josie Pippin, DO, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Hospital Medicine. Pippin earned a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. She is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians and the American College of Physicians.
Sarah Hunter, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Hospital Medicine at Baptist Health Lexington. Hunter earned a medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine.

LEXINGTON Brian Kelty, MD, has joined KentuckyOne Health Primary Care Associates. Kelty received his doctor of medicine from the University of Kentucky, where he also completed his residency Kelty is board certified and specializes in adult and pediatric psychiatry He has been practicing since 2013.
KentuckyOne Health Breast Care Receives NAPBC Accreditation
Accreditation recognizes commitment to providing the highest quality breast care
LEXINGTON KentuckyOne Health Breast Care has received three-year full accreditation from the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). This accreditation was awarded from a survey conducted on April 25, 2018, and will extend until April 24, 2021.
“We are so pleased to have received the NAPBC accreditation, which recognizes our team’s outstanding commitment to patient care,” said Kelly Ray, BSN, director, KentuckyOne Health Breast Care. “The KentuckyOne Health Breast Care team is full of highly engaged and enthusiastic employees who are constantly looking for opportunities to improve and innovate. Due to their hard work, the breast care program is deserving of this esteemed accreditation.”
NAPBC three-year full accreditation is awarded to centers that comply with all 29 standards at the time of the survey. The program was analyzed in six categories: leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement.
KENTUCKYONE HEALTH SURGICAL ASSOCIATES IN LEXINGTON ADDS NEW SURGEONS
LEXINGTON Two new physicians, John Harris, MD, and Daryn Nisbett, MD, have joined KentuckyOne Health Surgical Associates.
Harris, who has been a long-standing general surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital, received his doctor of medicine from the John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii. He is board certified and specializes in general surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
Nisbett, who is also board certified and specializing in general surgery, received his doctor of medicine from the University of Louisville and completed his residency at Carolinas Medical Center. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
Saint Joseph Hospital Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program Certified by Industry Leader
LEXINGTON Saint Joseph Hospital announced the certification of its Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Saint Joseph Hospital was recognized for its commitment to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care.
“We are thrilled to receive this certification for the wonderful work our cardiovascular rehabilitation team is doing to help those in our community recover from heart issues,” said Steve Lin, MD, KentuckyOne Health Cardiology Associates. “When someone suffers from a cardiac event or procedure, it’s important to have a team in place to help them as they recover. Our program gives patients the education and resources they need to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
Saint Joseph Hospital’s cardiovascular rehabilitation program participated in an application process that requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices. AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by AACVPR and other professional societies. Each program is reviewed by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee and Certification is awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors and certification is valid for three years.
