Pikeville Medical Center Hosts Physician Reception

LEXINGTON Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) held a physician reception and recruiting event on Thursday, July 27 at the 21C Museum Hotel in Lexington. Nearly 100 medical students, residents, practicing physicians, their family members, and PMC staff attended.

With a wide range of medical specialties and over 3,200 employed physicians and providers, PMC, a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, serves the southeastern corner of Kentucky and West Virginia, an area with a population of over 400,000 people.

Over the last 10 years, PMC has continually expanded its staff and updated its medical equipment to meet the needs of the community.

Hope Scarves to Host Annual Colors of Courage

LOUISVILLE Scarves – Stories – Research … The trifecta of hope for Louisville based nonprofit organization, Hope Scarves. The organization’s mission is to share scarves, stories, and hope with people facing cancer. Since its founding in 2012, Hope Scarves has sent over 7,000 scarves to people from ages four to 92 facing over 90 types of cancer in every state and 16 countries. Each Hope Scarf carries a story of someone who has faced cancer and our sincere encouragement,” says Founder Lara MacGregor, a stage IV breast cancer patient.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 Hope Scarves will host its signature fundraising event, Colors of Courage. The event is a celebration of the people Hope Scarves connects with and the most significant source of support for the growing organization.

Guests will be welcomed with an openhearted vibe – reflective of the creative, entrepreneurial organization supporting cancer patients around the world. Event highlights include live painting, a silent auction, stories from scarf recipients, music, and delicious food and beverages from long-time friends of the organization such as River Road BBQ and Makers Mark. Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation Holds 28th Annual Golf Tournament

LEXINGTON On Monday, June 12, the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation held its 28th annual golf tournament at the University Club of Kentucky. Forty-one teams participated in the action-packed day, which included longest drive and closest to the pin competitions, a ball drop raffle, and delicious food provided by Dad’s Deli and Selma’s Catering. Over $50,000 was raised to help support the mission of Saint Joseph Hospital.
