Stacy Quinn, FNP-BC, Joins Baptist Health Medical Group Family Medicine in Sellersburg

NEW ALBANY Baptist Health Medical Group is proud to announce board-certified nurse practitioner Stacy Quinn, FNP-BC, has joined its family medicine practice in Sellersburg, located at 7600 Highway, 60, Suite 100.

Stacy earned her master of science in nursing, with a concentration on family practice, from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Stacy is certified in both basic and advanced cardiovascular life support by the American Heart Association. She also is certified in cardiac surgery.

Ashley Lankford, MD, FACS, Joins Baptist Health Medical Group General Surgery

NEW ALBANY Ashley Lankford has joined Baptist Health Medical Group in New Albany, IN, with her general surgery practice located at 2125 State St.

Lankford is a board-certified general surgeon and a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, Georgia and a breast oncology rotation at the renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Lankford performs advanced surgical procedures, including minimally invasive laparoscopy and treats a wide range of conditions, including benign and malignant disease of the breast, skin, and soft tissue; hernias; disorders of the biliary tract; and diseases of the large and small bowel. In addition, she provides state-of-the-art wound care.

Lankford is certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American Board of Surgery.

GLMS ALLIANCE PRESIDENT IS RECOGNIZED

LOUISVILLE Supplies Over Seas (SOS), a Louisville-based global health organization, has presented Debi McDonald with the 2019 Health & Hope Hero Award for her humanitarian work in Uganda. McDonald recently coordinated a shipment of medical supplies and equipment from SOS to Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital in Jinja, Uganda. She also runs a nonprofit called Healing the Children that brings children from Africa to Louisville for life-saving surgical procedures that are unavailable in their countries. Debi is also the president of the Greater Louisville Medical Society Alliance.

CHI Saint Joseph Health Launches Affiliation with Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center

Case review by nationally ranked cancer program among the benefits

LEXINGTON CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Centers in Lexington and Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center announced an affiliation to expand access to highly specialized cancer treatments, clinical expertise and research studies for patients in central Kentucky.

“Our cancer care centers have a long history of providing high quality care for patients and we are pleased to enhance that care even further,” said Bruce Tassin, CEO, CHI Saint Joseph Health, and president, Saint Joseph Hospital.

The affiliation follows a rigorous review of the care and services provided by CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Centers. Among the benefits are a streamlined referral process and consultation on treatment options with Cleveland Clinic physicians. Oncologists with CHI Saint Joseph Health will present cases to the Cleveland Clinic tumor board, which will provide a consensus opinion to the Lexington physicians to incorporate into the treatment plan.

CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Centers provide a social worker at both Lexington locations and support groups that meet regularly. The centers will soon add referral coordinators devoted to oncology services.

Dr. Iram Nawaz Joins CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Pulmonology in Lexington

LEXINGTON Iram Nawaz, MD, has joined CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Pulmonology at Fountain Court in Lexington. Nawaz specializes in pulmonary and critical care, as well as internal medicine. She has a passion for helping people quit smoking to prevent lung diseases and cancer.

“I feel that I am called to serve here in Kentucky, where there is a high percentage of people who smoke,” said Nawaz. “I’m eager to help with everything from smoking cessation counseling to screenings and treatment.”

Nawaz completed a residency in internal medicine at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, as well as residencies in internal medicine and general surgery at Mayo Hospital in Pakistan. She earned a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care from SUNY Downstate Medical Center at University Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She is board certified and specializes in pulmonary care and internal medicine.

She is fluent in four languages: English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
